Course Overview

Asian Medical Institute was established in 2004 and registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic  on 06 February 2004, is a private higher medical educational institution functioning on the basis of self-management and self-financing. The Institute is licensed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Kyrgyz Republic and approved by the board of this ministry for the right to conduct educational activities in the sphere of higher professional and secondary education in specialties General Medicine and Dentistry.

Course summary

In Asian Medical Institute, the Faculty of “General Medicine” was organized in 2004 from the day of the establishment of the institute in coordination with the Ministry of Education, Science and Culture and the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic. The task of the Faculty is to provide qualified educational services in the sphere of higher and professional education corresponding to the modern requirements of the Kyrgyz Republic and foreign countries.

EDUCATIONAL DIRECTIONS

The Department carries out training of highly qualified physicians with a basic university education in the specialty: 530001, 560001 “General Medicine”. In accordance with the State Educational Standards of the Kyrgyz Republic, the students are trained according to curricula. The Faculty conducts all applied skills and types of practical trainings approved by the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic. Graduates who have passed all stages of study get a diploma majoring in “Physician–General Medicine” and continue their postgraduate studies in clinical residency training after successfully passing certification at the Higher Medical Council of India, Pakistan, etc. The Department implements 3 programs for preparation of clinical residents (for a list of licensed programs, see the corresponding section). In 2016, the 3rd graduation of 34 physicians took place, which received the appropriate cards and certificates for the right to work in their chosen field of medicine. A total of 73 physicians have been trained during the period of activity of the Faculty. High level of quality of teaching disciplines to foreign students is confirmed by daily inspections of attendance by independent inspectors and teachers, checks by Indian, Pakistani and Kyrgyz commissions and independent listeners.

STRUCTURE OF THE FACULTY

The faculty includes many subdivisions: dean’s office, departments of surgical, therapeutic, morphological and natural-humanitarian sciences, center for foreign languages and distance learning, center for clinical skills and knowledge assessment “simulation center”, postgraduate medical education department.

MATERIAL BASE OF THE  FACULTY

The departments of fundamental sciences (anatomy, normal and clinical anatomy, topographic anatomy and operative surgery, histology, cytology and embryology, physics, medical computer science and biology, microbiology and virology, normal and pathological physiology, chemistry and biochemistry, etc.) are located in Kant on 58 Gagarin Street in the academic buildings of the student campus of the S. Tentishev Asian Medical Institute using 4 lecture rooms, library room, computer classrooms, 120 classrooms and 2 laboratory rooms, 1 vivarium, 15 administrative offices. Departments of clinical sciences: – Therapeutic disciplines are located at the clinical bases of the 6th city hospital, 1st city hospital, city children’s clinical hospital for emergency medical care (3rd children’s hospital). – Surgical disciplines at the clinical bases of the National Surgical Center, 1st city hospital, Bishkek Research Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics, National Center of Oncology and Radiology, Maternity Hospital No. 2.

STUDENTS

Graduates of the S. Tentishev Asian Medical Institute work both in Kyrgyzstan and in Pakistan, India, Nigeria. The contingent of students is currently from different countries: India, Pakistan, Syria, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Somalia, Egypt. The students of the General Medicine faculty are regular participants of many scientific international congresses, sports championships, various competitions (Annual conferences, “Spring Ala-Too”, etc.). Practically all departments of the General Medicine faculty are equipped with computers and modern diagnostic and treatment facilities, which allow to provide medical and diagnostic assistance to the population at the highest level. The training programs of the department are close to the most advanced world programs.

Admission requirements

For First Year Applicants :

  • Photocopy of first 4 pages of Your International passport
  • Copy of higher Secondary School Certificate

For Migration / Credit Transfer Applicants:

Students with Migration / transfer of credit hours are accepted from other institutes, keeping in view the subjects studied at previous institute and the curriculum at Osh State University.

  • Academic transcripts with detail of subjects studied at previous medical institute.
